Graduated from Manchester Poly 1975. During the 1980s he was chief maker for Pauline Solven & Charlie Meaker, then set up Phoenix Hot Glass Studio in 1989, very successfully producing hot-formed art glass bowls, vases, candlesticks & sculptural pieces, often inspired by plant forms, which sold through high-end outlets (including Liberty's in London). Roger closed Phoenix in 2005 so that he could concentrate more on his sculptural, installation pieces
