Established 1982 by John Ditchfield, after serving a 7-year apprenticeship at Venetian Glass Co, under Franco Toffio, a skilled Murano glassblower. Hand-blown one-off vases, lamp-bases, vessels & paperweights, mainly with iridescent finishes. His signature used on its own for a couple of years before he created Glasform.

Established 1969 in Covent Garden, London by Samuel J "Sam" Herman (US), tutor in glass dept. of Royal College of Art, as workshop for RCA students (Herman left to go to Australia 1974). Annette Meech: Large hand-blown organic-form vases, bowls etc, with strong use of colour, sometimes incorporating casting techniques. Fleur Tookey: Coloured hand-blown lead-free glass one-offs & series pieces including decanters, plates, bowls, perfume-bottles, vases, goblets & candlesticks. Christopher Williams: Contemporary-looking cut or sandblasted colour-cased vessels. Other founder-members (now independent glassworkers) include Pauline Solven, Steven Newell, Jane Gilchrist, Dillon Clarke, David Taylor, Iestyn Davies. Charlie Meaker & Anthony Stern both also trained here.
