  • our general policy

    (1) We aim only to offer items of a certain minimum standard to our customers (i.e. particularly fine examples of the produce of a manufacturer, or, in the case of more common items, only those in unusually good condition).
    (2) Every item we offer will have been thoroughly cleaned and checked for damage or repairs.
    (3) It is to be expected that, with age, glass items will pick up some wear marks, such as superficial scratching or minute "chipples" to the base, light scratches to the body surface or minimal water-damage in the case of decanters and vases. Only if we consider these are reasonable and acceptable for the age of the item would we offer it for sale, and such "normal wear" may not be specified in the description of condition.
    (4) We do not normally offer damaged goods (i.e. items with bruises, bad chips, riveted cracks, serious water-damage, or which have been re-ground/polished), although exceptions may be made in the case of very rare items (in these instances, any damage will be fully itemised in the description.)
    (5) All quoted dimensions are rounded down to the nearest half-centimetre, and all weights are rounded up to the nearest five grams.

    methods of payment

    (1)

Our preferred method of payment (the simplest and most secure) is by PayPal. Customers do not have to be signed up to PayPal in order to make a payment. As members ourselves, we simply send you a request for payment through PayPal to your e-mail address. Clicking on the supplied link takes you to a secure webpage where you can pay using any credit or debit card that PayPal accept

If you are a PayPal member yourself, you can pay direct from your PayPal account. To find out about signing up to PayPal, visit PayPal (US) or PayPal (UK)

    (2) Alternatively, for UK customers only, payment may be made by personal cheque

    conditions of sale

    (1) All items will be sold strictly on a 'first come, first served' basis. Although all items are available at the time they are first advertised on our website, and every effort is made to update our 'shop windows' regularly, we are unable to guarantee that an item will not have already been sold by the time we receive your order

    (2) All orders will be acknowledged, and all successful orderers will receive a confirmation of acceptance of order by e-mail

    (3) Unless otherwise stated, the offer price will not include the cost of postage or carriage, but will include the cost of packing

    (4) Despatch of goods will take place as soon as payments are cleared (usually about five working days)

    (5) Payment must be received by us no later than five working days after the date of confirmation of acceptance of order. After this time, the confirmation of acceptance of order will be deemed to have lapsed, and the item(s) will become available for resale

    (6) We package all items extremely carefully, and have successfully sent goods all over the world without problems. However, all goods are sent at the purchaser's own risk, and will not be insured separately by us (although items sent by some methods are automatically covered against loss in transit: see postage & carriage for details)
