Royal Mail (Recorded Signed For)
(United Kingdom only - rate effective from 4th April 2011)
For an additional 77p on top of the price of First or Second Class postage, this provides proof of posting, signature on arrival and online confirmation of delivery
Royal Mail (Special Delivery Next Day)
(United Kingdom only - rates effective from 4th April 2011)
Although it is more expensive, we would recommend Special Delivery Next Day where possible. As delivery is guaranteed by 1.00 pm on the day following despatch, parcels are kept separate from the mass of items, making them (we feel) less likely to incur damage. Also, parcels are covered against loss

Royal Mail (Special Delivery 9.00AM Guaranteed)
(United Kingdom only)
An even faster service, with delivery guaranteed by 9.00 am on the day following despatch. However, it is considerably more expensive and there is a maximum weight of 2 Kg. Rates can be obtained from the Royal Mail website
Royal Mail (Standard Parcel rates)
(United Kingdom only - rates effective from 4th April 2011)
Rather slower than First Class mail (delivery in 3 to 5 working days), but a cheaper option for heavier items

Standard compensation cover is included up to £46.00 or the market value of the item (whichever is lower). Additional compensation premiums have gone up hugely this year, but cover can be purchased as follows:
